 1 ) Music and Misery
What came first?
Music or the misery?
Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable?
Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?
 4 ) “High Fidelity”-Rock On!
"What came first.the misery or the music?" Rob asks at the very beginning of the film.
"What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music? " From the opening words, High Fidelity will make you laugh and fall in love with it.

The movie's main plot is Rob recounting his past breakups via his favorite organizing device, the Top 5 List. He purposely excludes his most recent girlfriend, Laura, from it. He is trying to deal with her leaving him for a strange, world music-listening, martial arts-doing freak named Ian (Tim Robbins). Then he decides to look up all his old girlfriends, and in the process finds out a lot about himself. A movie about a man on a journey discovering why he's become the man he is and making decisions to change his future.
Having read the very good Nick Hornby novel of the same name I looked forward to "High Fidelity" quite a bit, but I never expected it to be as good as it is. This is easily one of the best comedies of all time for its laughs alone - but what separates it from other comedies (particularly new-age ones) is that it's a very poignant multi-layered tale that focuses, primarily, on males - and why we are as we are. Love, life, relationships, music, movies, hobbies, jobs, ticks, ups, downs - everything is here.
That's all.

 5 ) music, fantasy, miserable

I didn’t realize and understand it until i see this:
He said “I committed to nothing, no one. keep my options open. that's just suicide...by tiny, tiny increments.”
“I'm tired of the fantasy, because it doesn't really exist. And there are never really any surprises, and it never really delivers.”
I’ve been living in my fantasy for so long, my fantasy about music, about romantic love… It’s never about someone particularly, it’s the fantasy in mind head, the irresistible temptation, the passion and feelings... I still enjoyed being love being cherished while even knowing this is not the type of romantic, desirable love that I want. But the thing is, does the love that I want really exist? Do I ever love someone or I only love the image that I created all in my head? And I get tired as soon as I found out they are not as perfect as I thought and then I left them hoping to find the soulmate that I’ve been longing for… and then I quickly through myself into another relationship, and i got disappointed again… it goes on and on
It’s miserable. I feel miserable. it’s like suicide killing me piece by piece… until it wears me out.

Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music? -----《High Fidelity》
Let's Get It On.
。。I agreed that what really matters is what you like, not what you are like... Books, records, films -- these things matter. Call me shallow but it's the fuckin' truth, and by this measure I was having one of the best dates of my life.
我有Jack Black唱let's get it on那么好,我就满足了
Love is a mixtape, but making it is just like a breakup......
